Overview

Built for how you actually work

MVP development and a technical product partner for dental-tech founders — from an idea and a domain insight to a real, usable product with the PMS integration and PHI-safe engineering dentistry actually requires.

Most dental-tech founders come from dentistry rather than software. You have seen a problem clearly, often for years, and you know it is worth solving. What you do not have is a technical co-founder, and the agencies that will take your money mostly do not understand that integrating with a practice-management system is the entire difficulty of the product rather than a line item near the end.

We become the product and engineering team you do not have yet. That means pushing back on scope, shipping something real in months rather than perfect in years, and getting the integration and compliance foundations right early — because those are the two things that make a dental product either credible or unsellable when you put it in front of a DSO.

From idea to product

How a dental-tech MVP actually gets built

Cut the scope, honestly. Nearly every founder's first specification is two to three times larger than the first release should be. The first job is finding the smallest thing that genuinely solves the problem for one clear user, because that is what you can build quickly, sell, and learn from.

Confront integration early. If your product needs practice-management data, that is your riskiest assumption and it belongs in week two, not month six. Founders who defer it routinely discover in month six that their entire premise depends on something harder than they assumed.

Build compliance in. Any product touching patient data needs HIPAA-grade handling from the first commit. Retrofitting is expensive, and the first serious customer's security review will find what you skipped. SOC 2 tends to follow once you are selling to groups.

Ship, then learn. A usable product in front of real practices teaches you more in a month than another quarter of design. It is also what raises money — investors respond to something working with users far more than to a deck.

Plan the team question. Some founders keep us as a long-term build-and-run partner; others raise on the MVP and hire in-house with us handing over. Both are fine, and we would rather plan for it openly than have the conversation at an awkward moment.

The problem

Founders lose months finding talent that understands dentistry

No technical team

You can't ship without engineers, and hiring a dental-savvy team is slow and expensive.

Generic agencies

A non-dental shop builds something that demos well but ignores clearinghouses, PMS data, and PHI.

Runway pressure

Every month without a shippable product burns runway and delays proof.

Compliance from zero

PHI means HIPAA from day one, and most first builds bolt it on too late.

How we help

What we build for you

We act as the product team you don't have yet. We help shape the product, then build the MVP — designed to reach a real customer or a fundable milestone — with the PMS integration and PHI-safe engineering dental requires. From there, some founders keep us as a build-and-run partner; others hire behind us.

We'll also tell you honestly when something isn't worth building yet.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you build our MVP if we have no engineers?

Yes — it's one of the most common ways founders work with us. We become the product and engineering team you don't have, taking a dental-tech idea to a real, usable MVP in months. We've shipped a founder's product to market with no in-house team required.

Do you act like a fractional CTO?

Often, yes. Beyond code, we help with product strategy, architecture, and the technical decisions that are hard to reverse later — the fractional-CTO-level guidance a first-time dental-tech founder usually needs.

What happens after the MVP?

Your choice. Many founders keep us as a build-and-run partner; others use the MVP to raise or land customers and build an in-house team behind us. We hand off cleanly either way.

Why not a general software agency?

Because dental software is mostly the hard parts a generalist doesn't see — PMS integration, clearinghouses, membership billing, and HIPAA-grade PHI. We already know them, which is the difference between shipping in months and discovering the hard parts after launch.

We have no technical co-founder. Is that a problem?

No — it describes most of the dental-tech founders we work with. You bring the clinical or operational insight and the customer relationships; we bring product and engineering. What matters is that someone on your side owns the product decisions, because we can build almost anything but we cannot decide what your business should be.

How much does a dental-tech MVP cost and how long does it take?

A focused MVP is typically a few months rather than a few weeks, and the cost depends almost entirely on integration depth and compliance scope rather than on screen count. We start with a short discovery sprint that produces a defined first release and a real number before you commit to a build — and occasionally that sprint concludes the idea needs reshaping first, which is far cheaper to learn then.
